The Blue Room is a major snorkel destination that was high on my list of must-do activities in Curacao. This cave is known for it's beautiful, deep blue hue and school of fish that hover inside it. Inside the cave, photographs can be epic beyond words! I had an amazing time on this tour, but not just for the photo opportunity.

The Blue Room, like other limestone caves in Curaçao, was formed through centuries of limestone deposits created by the process of dissolution and precipitation. Rainwater, mixed with carbon dioxide, penetrates the limestone layers and dissolves them, creating cavities. These cavities eventually evolved into the impressive caves we can explore.

It's 15 minutes paddling to the cave. The best time to go to the Blue Cave Room is around noon, when the sun is at its sharpest. Once you arrive at the entrance of Blue Room Cave you can attach your canoe to a pole and then you have to take a dip into the Blue Room. If the water is high you have to take a two-meter dive to enter the cave.

The Blue Room Cave is located on the northwest side of Curacao. It takes about 45 minutes to hike there from Playa Santa Cruz. This underwater cave has a small opening that you can swim through to access this large cave. As the sun reflects through the opening, it gives the entire cave a blue hugh.
